If I was a person that used the word “swoon”, I would say you are all going to swoon over these photos from Stella’s bridal session. Since I don’t normally use that word, I’m just going to say that you are going to love it. A beautiful redhead, a stunning bridal gown, and a gorgeous location made for some insane photos! We shot Stella’s session the week following her wedding which was a fantastic idea… We didn’t have to worry about her dress getting dirty, and we had plenty of time to shoot. It was so relaxing! And Old Salem is always beautiful in the fall. . .

Stella brought a few different accessories for the shoot. I love this green sweater!

Stella has a beautiful smile. . .

Did she pick the perfect dress, or what? Love those ruffles!

Pretty sure this belongs on the cover of a magazine somewhere. Am I right? ;)

Check out this sunset! I love the golden glow.

Old Salem is full of great backdrops and color!

Near the end of the session, we stopped in at the Old Salem cemetery. I know that may sound a little creepy if you’ve never visited, but this cemetery is incredibly beautiful!

Stella brought this hat and lunch cooler that belonged to her dad. . . Such a sweet idea!

We finished off the session by laying in some leaves . . . She makes beauty look so easy ;)

Stella & Jon’s wedding was the last of my 2011 weddings and it couldn’t have been better! It was a fantastic way to end the year. The wedding was held on the front porch of Jon’s mother’s house on a completely stunning fall day. The intimacy of the location, the small wedding party, and the [...]

Stella & Jon’s wedding was the last of my 2011 weddings and it couldn’t have been better! It was a fantastic way to end the year. The wedding was held on the front porch of Jon’s mother’s house on a completely stunning fall day. The intimacy of the location, the small wedding party, and the incredible details were so perfectly Stella and Jon. . . I love their relationship! They are so comfortable with each other but still seem like they’re just now falling in love. You’ll be able to see into that part of their relationship in the first look photos. Adorable!

The details . . .

Venue : Family home, Ceremony. Twenty-One and Main, Reception.
Coordinator : Leigh Pearce Weddings
Bride’s Dress : Lazaro. J Major’s Bridal Charlotte, NC.
Hair/Makeup Artist : Carla White
Officiant : Susan Dana Kennedy
Florist : Amy Lynne Originals
DJ/Videography : K2 Productions
Catering : Twenty-One and Main
Cake : Maxie B’s

Jon’s mom had this comic book from the 1950′s sitting in Stella’s room. It was one of my favorite details!

Amy Lynne Originals always does incredible work! That bouquet smelled heavenly! Jonathan and I stepped outside for a few minutes to photograph some of the amazing details. . .

Pretty much my favorite ring shot ever. . .

Jonathan got some great shots of Jon while I was with the girls . . .

Do you love Jon’s undershirt, or what?

A few finishing touches . . .

. . . and we’re ready for the first look!

I just love this series of photos!

Jon and Stella were so wrapped up in each other, I’m not sure they noticed anything else! I think this image captures them perfectly.

A little chest-bump with the maid of honor before moving on to more portraits. . .

Um, cute!

I don’t think I could’ve asked for better light to work with!

This couple could be on a magazine cover. You two are seriously stunning!

I love their invitation suite!

Jon proposed at Starbucks so there were hot drinks and coffee details everywhere. . .

Everyone threw lavender on the newlyweds after the ceremony. It smelled wonderful!

I was floored when we stepped inside Twenty-One and Main! It smelled amazing and looked perfect! Leigh is great at putting together all the little details. . .

This was some of the best food I’ve ever tasted. Jonathan and I are looking for an excuse to get back to Elkin so we can eat there again!

Stella and I did a post-wedding bridal session that will be hitting the blog in the next couple of weeks. Get ready to see more of this gorgeous bride!

Since my brother got married a couple of weeks ago, I can now share his beautiful wife’s bridal portraits! I think Amanda picked the perfect dress and accessories. Can’t wait to share their wedding photos soon! Amanda’s amazing hair and makeup was done by the lovely Carla White.

Amanda carried this heirloom Bible down the aisle at the wedding. . .

We had such a beautiful afternoon to work with!

I love this little chapel at the park.

This little smirk is SO Amanda. . .

Umm, cathedral veil. Love it.

This weekend has been a complete whirlwind! Between a few senior, bridal, and engagement shoots, and an amazing wedding in Charlotte, we found some time yesterday to go visit Jonathan’s family in Goldsboro and were able to take just a little while to rest and not think about all the work waiting at home. But I’m excited to get back to editing so I can share with all of you  :) Jonathan and I have also been working on adding some really fun stuff to Alexa’s Photography and I can’t wait to share the news with you all later this week! In the meantime, check out this gorgeous bridal session…

Meredith was married this past weekend so I can finally share her bridal session without fear of anyone seeing the dress before the wedding. I just love her bridal look! The hair, makeup, veil, flowers…. it was all perfect. Don’t forget to leave a comment and let me know which image is your favorite ;)

I love this cute smile!

We found some incredible light in this alley. So soft and romantic!

There are so many cool places to shoot in downtown areas. I hope more of my brides will want to try some new settings with me!

Seriously, Meredith. You are stunning!

This window always has an awesome and ever-changing display. . .

I looooove this yellow wall.

We hit the jackpot with good light for this session.

Absolutely LOVE this image. Before the session, Meredith confessed that she was nervous about being too aware of the camera. I think she looks like a pro here!

After we shot downtown for a while, we headed to our second location just in time for more gorgeous light! I love the color here . . .

I always love a few props during a session. This image really makes me think of Jane Austen for some reason. . . anybody else?

I also love the idea of bringing a different bunch of flowers for the second location. We got two totally different looks without changing hair or makeup!

Meredith, you were a seriously stunning bride and so fun to work with! Can’t wait to post the images from your wedding :) Enjoy the honeymoon!

We shot Kellie’s bridal session at the Homeland Cremery Farm in Julian, NC. I was excited about shooting at a dairy farm but even more excited when Kellie told me she was up for anything! We shot in the barn, inside the cow fence, and in the ice cream shop. Let me tell you, a dairy farm is not the cleanest place on earth to shoot your bridal session but the dress didn’t get dirty at all and the property was gorgeous!

I love the moody sky in these first few shots.

LOVE the barn and tree combination. It was such a great contrast to Kellie’s flawless look.

One of my favorites. This should be a large canvas!

Kellie was so excited about her purple shoes… and for good reason! They are so cute.

We went inside the fence for a few shots with the cows.

Just look at how cooperative they are!

The sun popped out for the last few minutes of our session. Beautiful!

Seriously, Kellie. Too gorgeous!

She’s just so effortlessly stunning.

A few last shots in the ice cream shop. So fun!
