I’ve photographed a lot of weddings over the years and yet the sweetness and excitement of a wedding day never gets old! Especially when you have such a wonderful couple and their families to work with (plus this amazing team of vendors!). Megan and her mom, Meg, had both looked at wedding photographers in the area and had separately picked me as the first choice photographer. I love that! It showed me that we all had the same vision for their wedding photos – that they be real and honest, full of joy, and showing the beauty in the little details. They put so much thought and work into this wedding and it was such an honor to spend the day with them!
Some things I loved about Megan + Tony’s wedding day :
+ All the beautiful details! Summer Joy Events and her vendors totally knocked it out of the park on this one. The lounge furniture in the reception lobby, beautiful florals, and custom drinks in honor of Megan + Tony’s three dogs were all just so perfect! (vendors listed at the bottom of this post)
+ Megan + Tony chose to go the traditional route of not seeing each other – or even talking to each other – on the wedding day and it was such a fun change of pace with the popularity of “first looks” now. The anticipation of Megan walking down the aisle was so great! I loved how Tony left his glasses on as she walked down so he could see every moment and then tucked them away when Megan made it to his side.
+ The toasts! I love a good wedding day toast with all the tears and laughs and these did not disappoint!
+ The killer wedding band. Oh man, SO much fun! Everyone had the best time singing and dancing all night.
+ Last, but for sure not least, late night bites. Anyone else love some hot truffle fries at 9:30 at night? This is one of my favorite trends and I hope it never goes away! haha
