It seems to be the theme in a North Carolina summer wedding. . . never knowing if the weather is going to cooperate! In this case, we had more than a little scare. The clouds were looming as we made our way up to Hanging Rock, and opened up with rain more than a couple times. But the ceremony was still a few hours away so we held on to that hope that the weather would clear up! We found Liz getting ready in a cabin at the park. She was a little nervous, but still smiling and praying that the clouds would pass on! Special thanks to Hannah for shooting this wedding with me! We had way too much fun.
The details . . .

A few of the bride’s details . . .
Liz and the girls got ready in this cabin. It was so cute and cozy!
Liz handmade most of the wedding details, including that adorable ringbearer’s pillow! Don’t you love how everything coordinates?
Liz wasn’t letting the rain get her down. She kept telling me “it will stop before the ceremony!” and flashing that adorable smile :)
I had to grab a few images of the invitation suite. Isn’t it gorgeous?
Hannah grabbed this cute shot of Liz’s shoes. I love that pop of color!
She was so happy and excited the entire afternoon!
Jonathan’s daughter, Lilly, was super happy to see Liz finally put on her wedding dress. . .
Hannah grabbed a couple shots of Lilly while I was photographing the bride.
The rain was coming in spurts at this point… pouring one minute, and barely sprinkling the next. We weren’t sure what to expect for the ceremony! We found the guys in the reception shelter, waiting for the weather to clear…
This the officiant’s son. Isn’t he cute? Seriously. Look at that face!
We grabbed a few shots of Jonathan alone…
Love that smile!
Time for the first-look! I love this shot by Hannah.
Jonathan was so happy to finally see his bride. All the nervousness, excitement, and getting ready led up to this point!
A good luck kiss from his daughter . . .
Some details . . .
And we’re ready to start the ceremony! I love that someone drew a huge heart in the sand behind the altar.
We had some seriously gorgeous light during the ceremony. And no rain!
Liz couldn’t stop smiling at her man.
Married!
We stole away for a few minutes of Liz and Jonathan alone. We had to squeeze in some photos while the sun was shining! And it’s a good thing we did. It started raining again after we went under the shelter for the reception!
She loves being wrapped in his arms . . .
They’re so cute together!
That sand was hard to walk in, even without high heels! Liz doesn’t seem to notice anything except her husband :)
Some gorgeous details… Again, designed by the bride herself!
I love a choreographed first dance . . .
Now Jonathan has two beautiful girls in his life . . .
Sometime during the reception the glow-sticks and bubbles came out and the guests got silly!
A bubble filled send-off. . .
Truly beautiful and you can feel the love and the happiness surrounding this wonderful day!!
Such beautiful pictures of beautiful people.
When you are “my age” you can look back on this day and recall the wonderful memories!
My God bless and be with you during all the years to come !
I love how great the pictures all turned out :)
